Should Christians Welcome Muslims and Support Mosques?

This post was written as a response to a full page ad that appeared in my local Burlington, NC paper, The Times-News, on February 25, 2016 titled: “Appeal for Support of Alamance County’s First Mosque” (click here for a PDF of the page). This full page ad was paid for by an anonymous person and signed by several organizations, individuals, and churches. Yes Christian churches.

This “ad”, supporting the first mosque in our county, misrepresented Islam, Mosques, Christians, Christianity, and the 1st Amendment. While I’m not an expert on Islam, I have read a great deal about it.  I’ve learned it’s NOT something most Americans would welcome as the dominate force in this country… and being the dominate force is where Islam seeks its equilibrium.

Christians Should be Welcoming, Not Stupid
Christians should be welcoming and spread the message of the Gospel, however, we should not promote other religions.  In John 14:6 Jesus said: “I am the way and the truth and the Life. No one comes to my Father except through me.”  There is NO wiggle room in this statement.  So why are Christians and especially Christian leaders supporting Islam and mosques, and why are their congregations allowing it?

It’s beyond my scope to detail the history and specifics of Islam, I will make some general declarations and provide resources to more than enough information to back up my conclusions.

How Does Islam Compare to Christianity?
Dr. Nabeel Qureshi: “The final marching order of Islam is jihad. The final marching orders of Christians are grace and love.”  There are those who do convert to Christianity and leave Islam: their messages are important and should be heeded. Dr. Nabeel Qureshi is one example, he has written several books, his newest book, Answering Jihad: A Better Way Forward, and one of his previous books, Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus: A Devout Muslim Encounters Christianity are next on my reading list.

The “ad” in the paper mentioned the “three Abrahamic” faiths: just because you can trace the three Abrahamic faiths back to Abraham does not mean they are equal faiths, or share the same God for that matter.  They are not equal.  As Christians we are primarily concerned with the words and works of Jesus.  Jesus was peaceful and died to save us from our sins, and not just any death, he was tortured and then nailed to a cross.  Muslims are primarily concerned with the commands of Muhammad, a violent warrior who conquered by bloodshed and death.

Islam also contains a political component, in fact, some of the most knowledgeable experts on the subject say it’s reversed: Islam is a political movement wrapped in a religion. It’s been proven time and again that Mosques around the world, including those in the USA, have been, and are being, used to radicalize Muslims. As the Muslim population grows in this country, it will be easier to harden “peaceful” or moderate Muslims.   Look to Africa, India, Europe, and countries like France and England to see what’s in store for the USA if we continue to pretend that Islam is a “peaceful religion”.

If the worldwide and domestic atrocities committed by Muslims were performed by Christians, you can bet that there would be loud and resounding opposition from Christians: where is that action from “peaceful” Muslims? Where is the Muslim public outcry, demonstrations, marches, etc. over Islamic terrorism?  Silence can be deafening.

Here in the south Baptists have a saying, “Backslidin“, which means you’re not living up to the Gospel… you’re not living up to Jesus’ teachings… you’re sinning in other words.  Not all Muslims are radical terrorists by any means.  However, the experts I’ve listened to, and the books I’ve read, make it clear that the teaching of Islam is to dominate and take over the world, and to do so through any means necessary.  Are “peaceful” Muslims simply “backslidin‘ Muslims who will shape-up (harden) when and if hard-line Imams come to their mosques?

Churches Hijacked
Many Protestant denominations have been taken over by socialists and progressives.  The ELCA (Evangelical Lutheran Church in America) is a good example of this.  In 2015, the Lutheran Social Services (LSS) of Minnesota created a 61 page booklet titled “My Neighbor is a Muslim” that paints a false representation of Islam, just like the “ad” in my local paper was inaccurate.  They did this to try and soften the opposition to the thousands of Somali refugees they’re bringing into that area.  Jodi Harpstead, CEO of LSS makes over $300,000 a year to do this. The Muslim Imam assisting with this booklet is a supporter of the terrorist group Hamas, believes Sha’ria law should be the law in U.S. areas where Muslims are the majority, heads one of two mosques where Somali youth have left to fight for a terrorist organization, and was refused government security clearance.  This is not isolated, this type of propaganda is rampantly being created and disseminated.  Here is a website, Exposing the ELCA that tracks the downfall of the ELCA.

During the recent 2016 primary elections in parts of Minnesota, reporters could not report on some candidates because only Somali was spoken: Candidates Speak Only in Somali at Minnesota DFL Caucus. This is where we’re headed, and is a direct result of the above mentioned efforts by the ELCA, our government, and others to flood the USA with Muslim refugees.  It’s unlikely the mosques these Muslims are attending are going to make Americans out of them, rather they will try to change America to their vision: they’re bringing their country with them.

There’s a logic and reality disconnect with groups supporting building mosques in this country, bringing in hundreds of thousands of Muslim refugees, and also supporting LGBT efforts.  My family recently left the church I’d been a member of all my life because the leaders of the church, and associated synod (ELCA) support of progressive ideals including LGBT efforts… those same people signed the “ad” of declaration of support for the mosque that was in my local paper.  That same logic would put a hungry tiger and a lamb in a cage and expect the tiger to order out for tofu… in case you’ve not been paying attention, the “refugees” in Europe have not been ordering tofu.

Stacking the Deck
In January 2016, Hillary Clinton attended a fundraiser held for her in Beaumont, TX at the home of Pakistani Muslim and businessman Tahir Javed where around 250 people attended and approximately $500,000 was raised for Clinton. Also attending were Congressmen Sheila Jackson-Lee and Al Green. “Many of the Pakistanis at the event were pleased with Clinton’s vocal support of the Muslim religion,” KBMT 12 News reported.  This is simply one of many examples, here’s more info about Clinton and Islam dollars, millions of dollars: Hillary is Getting Paid to Lie About Islam.

There are many deeply funded organizations promoting Islam in this country.  Muslim organizations are pouring millions into ad campaigns and marketing to “polish” or smooth the message that Islam is not what it seems (just like the “ad” in my local paper).  The best source I’ve found for this information is detailed in The Progressive Virus by Dr. Anthony Napoleon, Chapter 12.  It will educate, frighten, and anger you.

We’re facing (and financing) our own destruction:

• According to a 2011 Pew Research Center study, the Muslim population is expected to increase by approximately 35% worldwide over the next 20 years, and 50% in the USA.¹
• More than 90 percent of recent refugees from Middle Eastern nations are on food stamps and nearly 70 percent receive cash assistance, according to government data.
• The largest percentage increase in foreign language spoken in the USA from 2010 to 2014 were for speakers of Arabic and Urdu (Pakistan’s national language), source.
• U.S. Admits More than Double the Number of Immigrants from Muslim Nations than from The European Union, 680,000 vs 270,000.

Conclusion
To those churches, ministers, and individuals supporting Islam and mosques I say this: you cannot lead people to Jesus if you misrepresent Jesus, you’re leading them somewhere else: you’re leading them to slaughter.

If you’re a member of one of those churches, you really need to take a serious inventory of why you’re still there, and what you’re giving your time, money, and resources towards. We must push back. We must educate ourselves.  We must act as Christians and take responsibility for our future.   We cannot assume our church leaders, or denomination officials, are acting in the interest of Jesus and in our best interests.  You may be surprised at what you’ll find if you start digging and reading.  But then what?  Will you take action?  Most won’t.  Jesus said to go into your room and pray… he did not say to stay there.  Christians must stop being silent, and not just about Islam, but about many issues facing this country.  Like the name of this blog, Do More Than Pray: take some action no matter how small.  If you feel the “Smoke of Satan” has entered your church and you can’t get them to change course, then it‘s time to find a new church home.  Political correctness stops us from challenging the leaders of our churches and synods when they support liberal and progressive policies that are diametrically opposed to Jesus’ teachings.   Jesus did not bend His truth to accept sin, he consistently said He was the only way.  If we move towards His Truth, and stand on our convictions, the pieces will fall into place.

Where to Go From Here?
We must educate ourselves.  We must educate our children ourselves.  We must monitor what our children are exposed to (even at church).  Read these books, especially Dr. Napoleon’s as an eyeopening start:

You must get news from sources other than the main stream media, even Fox News is biased and controlled.  I’ve been watching One America News Network, they’re new, small, and not carried by many cable providers.  You can get them with a small monthly subscription by using a Roku player, they’re not totally neutral either but you will hear more actual news there, and they are less controlled.   Once you start to get news from other sources and you do watch the main stream guys, you’ll start to see through their show, and that’s all it is, a show.
