Gun control, what’s it really about? The main goal is not taking our guns, but something much, much more personal. Most of the useful idiots of the left, and that includes the media, don’t really know the ultimate goal, they’re just operating under the misguided notion that guns are evil and must be removed from law abiding citizens. That’s what they’ve been taught: to fear guns to the point that the most clueless of them will ask a police officer to leave a restaurant because he or she is carrying a gun.
If the gun grabbers are smart enough to inhale and exhale on their own, surely they understand they’ll never take guns from the criminals. They believe, regardless of this fact, we’ll all be safer with numerically less guns regardless that the criminals would have a much higher percentage of firepower. Guess what… they don’t care… that’s not the point: it’s only a beneficial side effect or bonus that law abiding citizens will have fewer or no guns.
What is the point?
Think about what happens when you’re required to turn in your large capacity magazine clips, and then your excess quantity of ammunition, and then months later you’re forced to turn in your guns that resemble assault weapons ( I say resemble because it’s illegal to own actual automatic weapons)… then sometime later, after a few more laws, they come back for the rest of your weapons. What does that do to you? What happens besides the fact that you’ve been disarmed?
You’ve been defeated. A once proud citizenry farther defeated. You’ve been farther emasculated. You’ve been made more compliant, and that is the point.
For the most part, the majority of gun owners will never have to use their guns to actually defend themselves or their families, but those guns are a symbol of the ability to defend, to take a stance if conditions (political or otherwise) get extreme, and of freedom. Remove that symbol and you’ve removed the feelings it stood for.
That’s the ultimate goal of the people behind the gun grabbers, a more compliant citizenry. The removal of the actual guns is important to them, but not nearly as much as a few more lashes with the whip of compliance.
When the useful idiots go on and on about how nuts we gun owners are and how they don’t understand why we take such a strong stance supporting the 2nd amendment, and how we won’t give an inch, we need to remind them that it’s not only about the actual guns, but about control, and that We The People are supposed to control this country, and we NOT be made into subjects of the elite few who wish to control us.
Until next time,
Fred
